Our Story

ESS was born from a simple wish -

To provide North American soccer players, coaches, and fans with a deeply immersive, authentic, and life-changing European soccer experience.

The key to our success is two-fold. Over 17 years, we’ve created strong relationships throughout Spain that allow us to provide experiences only available to insiders and locals. Second, we know soccer in both Spain and the United States, and we can seamlessly integrate the American player or team into the football culture of Spain. We take care of all your needs in Spain, whether it's football, hotels, restaurants or which beach to go to.

ESS offers the best in unique cross-cultural soccer adventures in Spain. From Donosti Cup tours to 1-week camps at our residential program in San Sebastian, we provide complete access to a Spanish football experience that no other American company offers.

Gary Warman

Owner & Director (USA)

My family and I emigrated to Canada from the UK in 1966, making our home on Vancouver Island.

As a kid, I played youth and club soccer all throughout BC, then at the college level while attending University. After school I toured Europe playing friendlies against clubs in England, France and Spain. These trips had such a profound impact on my life and my love of the game that I made it my mission to help other young American players gain access to the same kind of rich, life-changing experiences that I got to experience.

I’ve been a soccer coach for 35 years now, and for the last 17 I’ve been leading soccer-based tours all throughout Europe. Currently I specialize in soccer tours of Spain that visit the bigger cities (Barcelona, Toledo and Madrid) as well as the smaller, more remote villages of the Costa Brava, Pyrenees and Huesca Provinces.

My favorite are the tours with the Donosti Cup at the center. This is the biggest annual tournament in Spain, hosted by one of the most beautiful and exciting cities in all of Europe, San Sebastian.

When I’m not leading tours through Spain, I coach the boys and girls varsity soccer programs at Sedro Woolley High School in Skagit County, Washington.

Todd Stauber

Owner & Director (ESP)

Whether it’s for an entire team or a single player, my job is to create the best European soccer experience possible, complete with pro-level training, quality games, and the kind of cultural insight that only a local can give you.

I’m a graduate of Seattle Pacific University, where I played in 3 Final Fours and won an NCAA Championship. I played professionally in America for the Seattle Sounders, Seattle SeaDogs, Lafayette Swampcats, and briefly for the San Jose Clash. I also had a short stint in Europe training with England’s West Bromwich Albion, and playing for Sutton Coldfield Town FC, and in the Belgium 2nd Division with FC Strombeek.

My coaching career spanned 18 years, starting at NCAA Div. II Western Washington University, where I was the youngest head coach in the NCAA at the age of 24. After leaving the college game I went into the youth ranks, where I owned and operated the Puget Sound Soccer Academy, while simultaneously coaching at several different clubs in Washington State. My final 5 years in the United States were at Pacific NW Soccer Club in Seattle, where I was the Boys Coaching Director and coached teams to 3 Washington State Cup titles. I left the US for Spain in 2016 to coach at UE Cornella, a 3rd Division club in Barcelona, where I was on staff with the Juvenil B team. As ESS grew it’s presence in Spain, I relocated to San Sebastian where I currently live and run our Spanish operations.

Kristy Rorie

Travel coordinator

An awesome travel experience all starts with how well it’s organized. From the moment your team signs up for an ESS trip, look to me for all your trip's organizational needs, to answer questions or to help customize your tour preferences. I see all sides of your trip since my first time I was a guest!

As travel coordinator you can also find me working in the background managing and executing the administrative duties that build and support each team’s trip. Then, in the summer, I head over to Spain to serve as a chaperone.

My goal is that when you arrive in Spain all you have to do is sit back, relax, and have the time of your life. If you have any questions or requests, please contact me via email or telephone.  I look forward to getting to know you and doing everything I can to make sure your trip to Spain is smooth, fun and full of amazing memories!
